Cairn
Cairn is the name we put on Roblox. Same people as Magnimont, same standards, a name that belongs on a group page instead of an invoice. There is no launch date, and there will not be a countdown.
Four stones, stacked by hand
It is generated from a plan rather than drawn. The Magnimont chevron follows one rule - a single shape, repeated and offset. This follows another: each stone carries its own width and a fixed lateral shift, so the stack leans the way a real one does.
The first version used a constant ratio stacked dead centre and came out a striped pyramid - smooth, symmetrical and completely wrong. The wobble is the whole identity. The gaps are generous for the same reason: at the size a group list actually renders it, a tighter stack closes into a solid blob.
Why not just Magnimont
A different room, not a different company
Magnimont sells engineering to businesses. That is a conversation with a founder about scope and budget. Roblox is a conversation with a twelve-year-old about whether the thing is fun. Same standards, different room - and the name should say which room you are in.
The name is the brief
A cairn is a stack of stones people build by hand on a mountain, so the next person can find the route. Built piece by piece, and it only exists to be useful to somebody else. That is close enough to the job description.
Sibling, not clone
Magni + mont is the great mountain: Latinate, corporate, ours. Cairn is the thing you build on it - five letters, plain-spoken, easy to say and spell if you are eleven. They share a house and a typeface, not a name.
Built for Roblox
Not ported onto it. Built for its engine, its economy and its constraints - and for an audience that decides inside thirty seconds whether the thing is any good.
